PHASE 1: SYNTHESIS
Translating theoretical non-linear magnetohydrodynamics into physical hardware.
Current Directive
Objective: Construct the primary vacuum chamber to house the force-free Spheromak. Following the successful 1,000-step simulation solver, the physical container will act as the boundary flux conserver.
- Procure and machine polycarbonate structural framing.
- Apply interior ceramic paint lining for thermal and conductive isolation.
- Initiate custom 3D printed structural prototypes.
Commencing Hardware Fabrication
With the digital solver proving that perfectly conductive boundaries prevent magnetic helicity bleed-off, we are moving from ElmerFEM to the workbench. This video details the transition from purely digital states into our physical build strategy.
Manufacturing Platform Initiated
Precision is required to create the complex geometric alignments of the Spheromak. Alongside the heavy-duty capabilities of the Voron 2.4, a new Bambu P2S Combo has been deployed to the lab to rapidly accelerate the prototyping of custom coil forms, alignment jigs, and structural brackets for the polycarbonate chamber assembly.
